Mariesa Crow

Fred Finley Distinguished Professor of Electrical Engineering, Missouri University of Science and Technology

Mariesa L. Crow is the Fred Finley Distinguished Professor of Electrical Engineering at Missouri S&T. She received her BSE in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan and her Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois-Urbana/Champaign. She joined Missouri University of Science & Technology in 1991.

Her area of professional interest is computational methods and power electronics applications to renewable energy systems, microgrids, and energy storage. She has been PI or Co-PI on $22 million in externally funded research and has authored over 200 technical articles and several textbooks and book chapters. She has served as Dean of the School of Mines & Metallurgy, the Director of the Energy Research and Development Center, and she is currently the VP for Research at Missouri S&T.

In her 25 year academic career, she has taught a variety of courses in power systems engineering at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and has received numerous teaching awards, including the IEEE Outstanding Power Engineering Educator Award. She is currently serving as the IEEE Power & Energy Society VP of Publications. She is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Missouri and a Fellow of the IEEE.
